OCSYSTEM® ICE GRIPS
THE UILTIMATE IN SAFETY FOR WINTER FOOTWEAR
OCSystem® Ice Grips
For the ultimate winter boot the checklist doesn’t stop with warmth, water resistance and style - safety tops the list every time at Mammal.
We all love the white stuff, but where there is snow there is slippery ground, which is why Mammal Boots have adopted the innovative OCSystem® which provides increased grip, enabling you to walk safely on icy surfaces.
The retractable ice grip is integrated into the soles of your boots and features stainless steel studs set within a framework of flexible polyurethane that remains durable even at extreme temperatures. The system is hassle-free, a handy key is provided that enables the wearer to easily and quickly flip the ice grips in or out.

How OCSystem® Keeps You Steady
Winter surfaces reduce friction. Standard rubber soles can struggle on smooth ice.
OCSystem® adds mechanical grip.
Step 1: Flip to Grip Mode
Rotate the integrated mechanism to deploy stainless-steel ice studs.
Step 2: Mechanical Traction Engages
Studs penetrate icy surfaces, increasing grip beyond rubber friction alone.
Step 3: Walk with Confidence
Improved heel strike stability and push-off control help reduce slip risk.
Step 4: Retract for Everyday Walking
Flip the grips back in for dry pavements and indoor comfort.
No add-on cleats.
No removal required.
No compromise between safety and style.
Whichever style you opt for, a pair of Mammal boots with OCSystem® retractable ice grips will ensure your safety, not to mention comfort, warmth and style.
Disclaimer:
Exercise caution:
Ice grippers, such as OCSystem® spikes or studs, can be an effective solution to walking on ice or snow, providing slip resistance and reducing the likelihood of falling. However, OCSystem® ice grips will not eliminate the inherent risks presented by walking in such conditions, and even when wearing footwear fitted with OCSystem® ice grips you should always exercise caution and extreme care. Failure to do so may result in injury.
Best practice:
Before using footwear with OCSystem® ice grips in ice and snow, make sure your ice grips are in good condition and are securely located, and be sure to check regularly that ice or snow has not become compacted around the studs when wearing them. Walk slowly and be aware of changes in terrain, use handrails or other aids where provided, and exercise extreme caution if carrying loads. Avoid ice where possible and don't walk on ice unless you have to. Exercise particular caution between 6am to 11am when temperatures are generally at their coldest.
What to avoid:
Unless the ice grips are retracted, footwear fitted with OCSystem® ice grips are not for indoor use and can be slippery on smooth surfaces like tile, stone, and ceramic. The ice grips can also wear down quickly on concrete, tarmac and other hard surfaces, so make sure to retract them when not needed.
